|  | Two Paths, When Crossed

((Just a quiet contemplation of the relationship between my lover and I. 5 years strong, and he still perplexes me. I would not have it any other way.))
Along the years, I have come to realize that I have an affinity to the past: to things antiquated, old-timey, dated-if you will. One of the greatest of my enjoyments, learning how production once was, the art of manual manufacture could keep me entertained for hours. Give me all things vintage, all things matured to their finest: what technology was and how it came to be. On the parallel, my closest--my dearest compadre, the one man who would keep me more entertained than all of this-- is quite the opposite. His eyes are set optimistically into the future, almost as though he beats the path. How he does! His passion is all that technology is, and all of what it will be. While I am all the day reminiscing over physical labors, he is exercising a new mind. What I will build with my hands, he builds with his thoughts. Whoever coined the term "opposites attract" was speaking on the real. How does it work so well, for two people running in perpendicular paths? Because we come together, crossing here..now, in the present, with passion, just to hear each other's whims. So, how shall our love-child be? A nostalgic blueprint hybrid? A lonesome, but dearly beloved, middle child between what may come and what shall pass? A bouncing babe dreamer with an old-fashioned name, wild and unfettered, all the while with a grasp on manners that would do anyone proud? While my lover and I may not be for this time, you--my prosperity-- will be one not meant for this world.
